# Servers

> Add the Minecraft servers where the plugin delivers purchases, and check whether they're online.

A server in ItemShop is where a purchase lands in the game. Every product is assigned to one server, and the plugin installed on that server runs the commands of paid orders. Have several modes (e.g. Survival and SkyBlock)? Add each one as a separate server.

## Add a server

**1. Enter a name**

The way players call it — e.g. "Survival". This is the only required field.

**2. Fill in the details (optional)**

Server address, Minecraft version and description.

**3. Set the features**

Decide whether vouchers and discount codes work on this server and whether the player must be online at delivery time.

**4. Connect the plugin**

Generate the plugin configuration for this server and install it — see [Plugin](https://andcze.mintlify.site/en/shop/plugin.md).

| Field | Meaning |
| - | - |
| Name | shown in the panel and in the shop; up to 100 characters |
| Server address | the address players use to join, e.g. `play.yourserver.com` |
| Minecraft version | e.g. `1.21` — informational, for players and for you |
| Description | extra information; up to 1000 characters |

## Server features

| Toggle | Effect |
| - | - |
| **Allow vouchers** | players can redeem vouchers for products on this server |
| **Allow discount codes** | discount codes work on products from this server |
| **Require player online** | commands run only when the player is on the server; off = delivery also to offline players (if your commands support it) |

> [!TIP]
>
> When a player says a discount code "doesn't work" on just one mode, check these toggles first.

## Active vs. online

These are two different things:

| | What it means | Who decides |
| - | - | - |
| **Active / Disabled** | whether the server handles sales; disable it during a rebuild so no new orders go to it | you, in the server settings |
| **Online / Offline** | whether the plugin is connected right now | the plugin — a server is online when the plugin sent a heartbeat in the last 5 minutes |

A server that was connected yesterday but hasn't sent a heartbeat for more than 5 minutes shows as **offline**, and its online player count drops to zero. Orders for that server are not lost — the plugin delivers them after reconnecting.

The plugin reports the player count (e.g. `12/100`) every 30 seconds by default, optionally with the list of online nicknames (this can be turned off in the plugin configuration).

## Order, editing, deleting

* **Order** of servers is changed by dragging — put the most important one first.
* **Editing** — the same fields as when adding.
* **Deleting** is irreversible. Move the products to another server first, or simply set the server to **Disabled**.

> [!NOTE]
>
> After adding a new server or renaming one, generate and upload the plugin's `config.yml` again.
