# Your account
> Manage your account on ItemShop.dev: profile, security, and activity history shared across all your shops.
This is the place dedicated to **you as a person**, not to a specific shop. Here you set your name and avatar, look after the security of your login, and check who logged in to your account and when.
Keep the distinction in mind: your **account** is you — a single person who can own several shops. A **shop** is a single business (your Minecraft server) with its own products, orders, and settings. Everything on this page concerns the account, meaning the things shared across all your shops.
The account has three tabs: **Profile**, **Security**, and **Activity**. We'll go through them one by one.
## Profile
In the **Profile** tab you set how others see you in the panel, and you can view basic information about your account.
On the left there's an **Edit profile** form, and on the right a few cards with read-only information.
This is the name or nickname that appears in the panel, for example next to your avatar in the top right corner. Enter something that's easy to recognize you by, such as "John Smith". This field is required.
You can provide the address (URL) of an image to use as your avatar. If you leave this field empty, ItemShop.dev will create a nice avatar from the **initials** of your name. On the left side of the form you'll see a live preview of how it will look.
Click **Save profile**. You'll see a confirmation, and your new name and avatar will appear in the panel right away.
On the right you'll see additional cards that you don't change on this tab:
Here you see the email your account is registered under. To actually **change your email** (and password), use the **Security** tab — there's a handy shortcut there.
Shows the permissions assigned to your account. Most owners have nothing special here, and that's perfectly normal.
A quick **View account activity** link that takes you to the full history of logins and changes.
Your account's unique number. It comes in handy when you contact support — you can share it so they can find you faster.
An avatar and a clear name are most useful when you invite collaborators to the panel (the **Team** section in your shop settings). They make it easy to see at a glance who made a given change.
## Security
The **Security** tab covers everything that protects access to your account: your password, changing your email address, two-factor authentication, and signing in with Google and Discord.
### Password
What you see at the top depends on how you created your account:
You'll see a **Change password** form. You enter your current password, then your new one twice (at least 8 characters). After changing your password you may be asked to log in again — that's normal.
If you created your account through Google, Discord, or an **email link**, you'll see a **Set password** card. It lets you add a password to your account so you can also log in the classic way — with your email and password.
Choose a password you don't use anywhere else, and ideally save it in a password manager. Your account gives access to all your shops and their earnings — it's worth protecting well.
### Logging in with an email link (magic link)
ItemShop.dev lets you log in **without entering a password** — just give us your email address and we'll send you a special link. You click it in your inbox and you're logged in. It's convenient when you don't want to remember a password, and it's secure too, because the link only works for a short while.
Logging in with a link and logging in with a password aren't mutually exclusive — you can use both. If you started without a password, you can add one at any time using the **Set password** card above.
### Changing your email address
In the **Change email address** card you see your current address and a field for the new one. After you enter the new email and confirm, we'll send a confirmation message to it — the change only takes effect once you click the link in that message.
Make sure you have access to the new inbox **before** you change the address. Without confirmation from the new email the change won't take effect, and email is one of the ways to log in and recover your account.
### Two-factor authentication (2FA)
This is an extra layer of protection. Once it's turned on, a password alone isn't enough — when logging in you also have to enter a **one-time code** from an app on your phone (such as Google Authenticator).
Confirm with your password and click **Turn on 2FA**.
You'll receive a secret code that you add to the authenticator app on your phone. You can copy it with a single click.
You'll also get a set of **backup codes**. Keep them somewhere safe — they'll let you recover access if your phone is lost.
Finally, type in the code shown in the app and click **Confirm and turn on**. Done.
If 2FA is already on, you can **turn it off** in the same place — just confirm with your password.
Save your backup codes **right away** and keep them away from your phone (for example, printed out). Without them and without access to the app, recovering an account with 2FA enabled is very difficult.
### Connected accounts
In the **Connected accounts** card you manage logging in with **Google** and **Discord**. Next to each one you see whether it's **connected**:
If an account isn't linked yet, click **Connect**, then log in through the Google or Discord pop-up. From then on you'll get into the panel with a single click.
If you no longer want to log in a particular way, click **Disconnect**. Just make sure you keep at least one working login method.
Don't disconnect your only login method. If you log in only with Google, first set a password or connect Discord, and only then disconnect Google if you wish. Otherwise you could lose access to your account.
## Activity
The **Activity** tab is a log of the most important events on your account. It lets you check whether anyone unfamiliar tried to log in, and when you last changed something.
Each entry shows:
What happened — for example a login, logout, a password or email change, turning 2FA on or off, a profile update, or creating an API key. Each type has its own icon and color.
How long ago it was (for example "2 hours ago"). Hover over it to see the exact date and time.
The network address the event came from. It helps you tell whether it was you, or someone from a completely different place.
A short note about the browser and system, for example "Chrome · Windows" or "Safari · macOS".
Above the list there's a **filter** you can use to narrow the view down to the events you care about — for example only logins, only password changes, or only profile changes. If there are a lot of events, **Previous** and **Next** buttons appear at the bottom so you can browse through the pages.
Drop in here from time to time. If you see a login from an unfamiliar place or device, change your password right away in the **Security** tab and turn on two-factor authentication.
## Premium plans
Premium is not paid from an ItemShop account wallet. Buy the Pro plan directly in the selected shop's **Premium** section and choose the billing period. The plan activates only after the provider correctly confirms payment. Current adapters treat this as a **one-time payment** for the selected period; the dashboard does not promise automatic renewal.
Premium pays for the **ItemShop.dev service**. Player payments for your products are separate and go to your merchant account with the configured payment provider.
## Good practices
* **Turn on 2FA** — it's the simplest way to keep anyone unfamiliar out of your account, even if they know your password.
* **Keep your backup codes** — save them away from your phone, ideally printed out.
* **Have a backup login method** — for example a password plus one connected account (Google/Discord), before you disconnect anything.
* **Check your activity** — a quick glance at the login history will catch any uninvited guests.
* **Remember the difference** — a Premium plan is a one-time payment for the ItemShop.dev service, separate from your shop's sales earnings, which land directly in your account with the payment provider.
